The Braga Bridge has been closed for an indefinite amount of time due to what authorities are calling a “failed expansion joint”. The police are on scene now with the Army Corps of Engineers. No cause has been identified at this time. Army Corps of Engineers representative John Malone called the event “A major inconvenience.” Malone would not comment any further on the event. No word yet on when the bridge will reopen.
To accommodate local traffic, shuttle ferries are available for commuters going to work as well as local Fall River residents. Joe Bouchard, a long time Fall River and Swansea Resident, referred to the incident as “some wack $h@t.” Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
