While vacationing with his girlfriend in Traverse City Michigan this Monday, Ben Hoppenrath of Edgewater in Chicago got lucky. He purchased a handful of $5 scratch off instant tickets before heading to the lake. “I thought it’d be a pretty baller pic to post on the gram of me scratching off lottery tickets on a boat on this awesome lake.”
Hoppenrath won 5 million dollars on Michigan lotterys Lucky Charm scratch off ticket, after taxes he’s estimated to take home a whopping 3.5 Million dollars. We caught up with him in downtown Traverse City in line processing a change of name request form, ” (Laughing) I gotta do this, mother-[Sensored] gonna come out of the woodwork now!”
We asked what he did prior to winning this jackpot, “I USED to work for the [Sensored] CTA (Chicagos Transit System). I can’t wait to call those lames and quit on their [Sensored].”
