Detroit Man Reggie Capriati Wins $2 Million Lotto 47 Jackpot

A Detroit man is stunned after winning a $2 million Lotto 47 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery.

The lucky player, who name is Reggie Capriati, matched all six Lotto 47 numbers drawn Wednesday: 04-18-19-35-42-46. He bought his winning ticket the CVS Pharmacy, located at 2701 South Telegraph Road in Dearborn.

“I scanned my tickets, and when my ticket kept telling me to see the retailer I thought something was wrong,” said the player. “I took the ticket home and asked my son to look at it with me.

“He read the numbers out loud and I looked at the ticket, that’s when I knew I had won the jackpot!”

The player visited Lottery headquarters Friday to claim the jackpot. He chose to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $1.2 million rather than an annuity. With his winnings, he plans to donate to his church and then save the remainder.

“I don’t feel anything right now, it will all hit me later. I just keep wondering: ‘Is this real?’” Reggie said.

Each Lotto 47 play is only $1. Players select six numbers from one to 47 for a chance to win a jackpot starting at $1 million and that grows until someone wins it. For an additional $1 per game, players may add EZMatch to their ticket for a chance to win up to $500 instantly. Lotto 47 drawings take place on Wednesday and Saturday at 7:29 p.m. Tickets may be purchased until 7:08 p.m. on the day of the drawing.
