EA Sports: Madden 18 Delayed

Madden 18 is a highly anticipated video game that is released every year. One of the last weeks of August is an exciting time of the year as football of all types begins. Originally scheduled for late August, Madden 18 will be delayed until late September.

Madden NFL 18 is an upcoming American football video game based on the NFL that is being developed by EA Tiburon and published by EA. The game will be released on September 19, 2017, although anyone who pre-orders the G.O.A.T edition will get it three days earlier.

EA Sports marketed the game with a trailer featuring Tom Brady’s entrance to Super Bowl LI. Madden NFL 18 is slated to be released on September 19, 2017 for PS4 and Xbox One and will not be on on EA Access until 6 months after release.

Madden NFL 18 is releasing worldwide on September 19, 2017 for PS4 and Xbox One. Madden NFL 18 will be available in two editions: Standard Edition and G.O.A.T. Edition. The cover star this year is none other than New England Patriot quarterback Tom Brady. Brady follows his teammate, tight end Rob Gronkowski, who was Madden NFL 17’s cover athlete.

Brady is more than aware of the so called “Madden Curse”, but doesn’t seem worried about it:

“The Madden NFL 18 cover is a great honor for me,” said Brady. “Especially since I have been playing the game since growing up next to EA headquarters in the Bay Area. I’m not one to believe in curses, so I’m ready to take the challenge head on like always! It doesn’t stand a chance!!!”

The Madden Curse got its name after a number of cover athletes for the games over the years have suffered significant injuries. Some fans take it so seriously that they campaign for their team’s star players not to get the cover athlete role.

Pre-order Madden NFL 18 Standard Edition on PS4 or Xbox One and you’ll receive the choice of an Elite player from their favorite NFL team for use in Madden NFL 18 Ultimate Team, plus five Squad Packs to redeem at launch.

Creative Director Rex Dickson quoted as saying “In order to make this game what we really want it was required to push back the release date. But it will well be worth the wait especially for CFM & competitive gamers.”
