On Saturday July 15th, a known local Peeps theif makes his annual appearance once again. This time at the Estero Pkwy Walmart on US-41. The Man identified as Nicholas Bestrom, an Estero High School Graduate, has been spotted shoplifting entire pallets of the infamous Peeps Marshmallow candies from multiple retailers over the past 3 years. This time, he was caught red handed in the parking lot.
Channel 23 News interviewed one of Nicholas’s high school teachers, Normal Heyboer inquiring about his problem.
“Nicholas was always a great kid…but when the holidays came around i would find hundreds of Peeps shoved inside his desk compartment after he exited the classroom. It’s so sad to see such a good young man consumed with the worst candy in the world.” Heyboer concluded.
The man is facing up to 5 months in Peep prison where criminals of this degree must come face to face with actual candy that doesn’t suck so bad like Snickers, Milky Way, and 100 Grand bars for 19 hours a day.
