Local man may own a Detroit Franchise

A local Bay County resident and sports figure may become the new owner of a Detroit sports franchise. Pat O’Shea, the only two time winner of the Golden Helmut Award, played football for the Handy Wildcats and Central Michigan University in the 70’s. He was inducted into the Bay County Sports Hall of fame in 2009.
When asked why he would think about making the plunge into owning a sports franchise, Pat replied that it was more or less by accident. “Monday, when I was on Ebay, I put a bid in for a Mickey Mouse outfit and on Tuesday I recieved notice that I was the highest bidder for the Detroit Tigers. I may have to move to Detroit. We’ll see”.
