Longtime Boston radio programmer Cadillac Jack McCartney has been tapped by iHeart Media to once again program WJMN-FM better known as “Jam’n 94.5”. He left iHeart where he was programming in New York and Boston, to work at Greater Media launching “Hot 96.9”, which is now owned by Beasley Media Group. He said in a recent interview “I have recreated Jam’n here at Hot 96.9 complete with most of the original air staff, and it is a shame what they have done with a heritage station like WJMN. They have literally drove the station I worked so hard to build into the ground!”
Cadillac Jack hasn’t said how much iHeart offered but industry insiders told us that it was somewhere in the tune of $500,000 a year. What is also unclear is whether or not he plans to bring someone of the air staff from WBQT with him in the move.
