Lumberton Man Wanted For Murder

A Lumberton man is suspected of arranging the death of a person he had previously had an altercation with over social media. He was added to the FBI’s list of most wanted fugitives today, becoming the first man from Robeson County to be added to the criminal lineup since 1950.

Unlike others who have earned this anti-honor, such as Osama bin Laden and Boston mob boss James E. “Whitey” Bulger, he is suspected in the death of only one person.

Wanted by the FBI: Brandon R. LeSane

Lumberton homicide detectives told the FBI that the victim, whose name has not been released, was gathering his belongings from his car when a gunman approached from behind and shot him in the head. He died a short time later.

The FBI is after LeSane for “unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.”

FBI officials call the jilted LeSane a “master manipulator,” who recruited one of his co-conspirators after telling him that LeSane had cartel ties and could supply him with drugs, as well as money and a car. The victim is said to be a high-ranking member of a rival cartel from the one that LeSane is believed to be associated with. Officials believe LeSane was also the getaway driver during the crime, which happened on the night of July 25, 2017 & he is now a fugitive. LeSane has been charged with capital murder.

Brandon LeSane — FBI Agents say that LeSane should be considered armed and dangerous.

The FBI is offering up to a $100,000 reward for information that leads directly to the arrest of LeSane.
