This morning Illinois Police Chief , Davanta Crews announced that no more warnings will be given with not only street racing in the West suburban area but a local car wash will be shut down also. The Illinois State Council passed a bill early this morning banning all modified cars from “hanging out” at the car wash on 1st And North Ave and also from being able to be driven on the street and deemed “unroadworthy”, a number one source of all the illegal activities that are being done in the are is a page on Facebook called “Melrose Park Car Wash Club” we have many undercover profiles in that page that monitor it every day. Huge information has been given out that a “car gang” has been made named “The Block” in which they transport and steal many car parts from chicago cars mostly targeted, Hondas
We interviewed a young car enthusiast from the Melrose Park area (14th & Augusta) that was quite concerned about this new law being passed today. He stated,” I don’t know why this law is even concerning us, We do all of our racing in our turbo cars in Mexico anyways.”
Though many people of the car enthusiasts world are concerned of this new founded law. This law will not be implemented until July 25th 2017. Many rumors are going around that they plan on “2-stepping” in front of the Melrose Park Police Department to make their voices heard.
