Roy Williams to resign as University of North Carolina men’s basketball coach

Roy Williams reportedly resigns as head basketball coach for the North Carolina Tarheels. At 9:00 p.m. this afternoon Williams turned in his resignation, as he stated “Duke is just too good. If we hadn’t of played a nobody (Gonzaga) in the national championship, there is no way we would have won. After discussing this situation with my family, I have came to a conclusion that I cannot beat Duke. They beat us twice last year, our only win against them was pure luck. I will now head to Durham to beg Coach K for a job as they say if you can’t beat them, join them. It worked for Kevin Durant, why not me? I’m not getting any younger” Williams coached the Tarheels for 14 years.
