U.S. Army Human Resources Command on the move again.

The 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) legislation directed the Army to move Army Human Resources Command (HRC) from its locations in Alexandria, Virginia, Indianapolis, Indiana, and St. Louis, Missouri to Fort Knox, Kentucky and to consolidate all functions there not later than 15 September 2011. Less than six years after the move, HRC is scheduled to relocate again.

As part of the Trump administration’s pledge to reduce the waste of resources within the federal government, the Pentagon announced 18 July 2017 that the Human Resources Command for all branches will consolidate in Doral, Florida, current home to U.S. Southern Command.
Dick Burcham, a spokesman for the BRAC, stated that there is no firm timetable for the move, but all branches should be expected to operate from the new DOD HRC by 2020. “With a move of this caliber, we need to ensure that the schedule remains as flexible as the beautiful sand of southern Florida and as fluid as the warm salt water of the Atlantic Ocean.”
