Venomous Wolf Spider Injures Woman In Florida

AP News – Florida Health officials confirm a rare case of a woman falling ill due to the bite of a venomous species of Wolf Spider. Wolf Spiders are generally harmless but officials noted that the species identified in the incident was a “rare hybrid” that was found mostly in warm tropical areas, specifically in retirement communities. Scientists believe this species of spider may have evolved from a combination of feeding on prunes and long term exposure to mothballs and Ben-Gay.

Witnesses say the woman was “complaining about cockroaches” when she noted the confrontation with the spider, stating she “let it be tho.” The woman was found unresponsive the next morning after the spider thanked her by biting her in the neck while she was sleeping.
