West Virginia Supreme Court Ruled Shoes and Shirts Required for Jury Duty

AP July 17, 2017, Charleston, WV: West Virginia Supreme Court ruled that shoes and shirts will be required of those called for Jury Duty. Special exceptions may be made for those who received their Jury Summons prior to receiving their “Check”. Selected jurors are asked to contact the Clerk of Court for any requests to be excused or rescheduled. Statute 40.41 states that jury service is for one day or the length of the trial. Requests to be excused can be maed through the county website. Shoes and shirts may also be rented at the courthouse.
