Attempted armored truck robbery leaves 3 gunmen dead in Gwinnett County.

The incident occurred at the Bank of America on Satellite Boulevard at about 10:20 a.m., said Sgt. Jon McQueary.

An armored truck pulled up to the front of the station and one of two employees got out of the vehicle.

Witnesses told deputies that a man in a white flatbed pickup was parked near one of the gas pumps and was watching the armored truck and the employee as he got out of the vehicle and entered the gas station to buy a drink.

When the employee came out of the store Police said the suspect then pull out a semi-auto-matic weapon and demanded money at gunpoint.

The guard , Jean Carlo Bermudez, 25 managed to turn the tables and opened fire, hitting the suspect.

The suspect, believed to be in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is pending verification by the Gwinnett County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The suspect’s gun was found in the parking lot.

The FBI said the suspect may have been working with a getaway driver, but it’s unclear at this point.

This is the seventh armored truck robbery this year.
