Cats not on leashes no longer legal on city streets

The New York Times has published an article about the city’s new and sweeping argument against cats not on leashes. Due to several complaints per hour, the new law States clearly that no household cat shall be allowed outside of a residence without a leash and identifying collar. Cats will also now be required to have their own Walking License. The Walking License will be similar to a driver’s license, complete with a photograph of the cat in question that is wearing it. All-new Walking Licenses must be displayed clearly on cat leashes along with their independent collar and rabies tag. Several city officials have signed the new law into place and it will be adopted as of September the 1st, 2017. Other states such as Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Texas, and California have joined suit and will be also requiring cat leashes as well as Walking Licenses for all household cats.
First 2 infraction will be a misdemeanor, 3rd infraction will be considered a third strike, and will lead to the new Felony Cat Law.
