Several sources have confirmed that the WH has been working behind the scenes with various city and state officials on a solution to the confederate statue removals. President Donald Trump explored the idea of having statues of himself positioned prominently at federal buildings and institutions during the campaign, however, the recent conflicts have elevated this idea to a top priority. One anonymous source claimed that Trump commented “I should have a statue in every town, city and place that currently has a confederate statue. The people would love this idea, and they will be the best statues as cost is no issue.” Several well-known artists have confirmed contact from the WH and are currently in negotiations to provide up to 800 unique statues that meet POTUS’ approval for deployment by mid 2018.
