“We are proud”, New Railroad Forms in Midwest

A new railroad has finally bought some old railroad lines in the Midwest region. This railroad will be known as the Allegheny and West Virginia Railroad. The railroad has succeeded the Indiana and Western and even CSX along some parts of the system and utilizes trackage rights on Class One giant Norfolk Southern.

The locomotive roster consists of around a couple hundred locomotives. These are all either SD40-2 or C40-8 engines. The company will run several freight trains, including a few intermodal and vehicle trains as well. Bulk commodities, such as grain, oil, and sand, will also be transported by the A&WVR.

The company’s chairman and CEO, Thomas R. Boyer, stated the following in a letter to customers and employees yesterday, showing much enthusiasm and confidence for the future:

“We are proud to be a fresh company that is ready to haul any kind of freight that our customers have us ship. The incoming influx in rail traffic is really going to push us to do our best. We want our customers to see us as a carrier that anyone can trust, and that anyone can ship with. This is our time to shine, and we want to shine brightly. This is the Allegheny and West Virginia, and we are pretty darn proud of it!”
