The St. Louis Blues announced this afternoon they have added savvy 33 year old winger / netminder Mathew Brenner to a 1 year deal worth $2 million.
Brenner brings to the table a wealth of experience and versatility in being able to play both goalie and winger. He has amassed 482 goals and 1345 total points in the Vetta Soccer League.
“With the youth movement and direction our club is going, we believe his soccer skills will translate very well onto the rink” Doug Armstrong added. Brenner joked, “I should be able to fill in for Fabbri quite nicely…and also help the Blues for when Allen collapses mid-season…as I am an excellent goalie as well!”.
