Hurricane Irma miraculously transports local man

A Port Charlotte man was scooped up by the intense winds during the eye of Hurricane Irma from his driveway and tossed 35 miles offshore into the Gulf of Mexico. Coast Guard was called when a frieght liner came upon Mr. Timko floating in the waters clinging to a piece of wood. When interviewed Mr Timko said one minute he was in his driveway and the next minute a gust of wind picked him up and carried him into the clouds where he felt like he was floating for about an hour before being dropped into the ocean. Mr. Timko appeared to have no major injuries and is being held for observation over night at the hospital.
