Matt Skiba leaves Blink-182

Two and a half-years after replacing Tom DeLonge as the co-lead vocalist/guitarist of Blink-182, Matt Skiba announced last Friday that he was parting ways with Blink-182 so he can focus more on his main band Alkaline Trio. Co-lead vocalist/bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker issued simultaneous statements insisting the split was amicable.

Skiba joined Blink-182 in 2015 replacing DeLonge and featured on their album “California” which was released in July 2016, as well as the deluxe version which was released in May of this year. Skiba also filled in for DeLonge for three shows in March 2015, before he was confirmed to be a full-fleged band member.

Hoppus and Barker are now looking for a replacement for Skiba
