Hotel Shooting

On Sunday night (10/22) , at approximately 11:00 pm; gunshots were exchanged by two separate parties at The Standard Hotel (550 S Flower St, Los Angeles, CA 90071) . Hotel clerk Jonathan Bynes(34) says a local rapper checked into a three bedroom suite with multiple friends for a “party/get-together” that would eventually lead to six to seven gunshots being fired just a couple hours later . LAPD law enforcement arrived at the scene at 11:25 pm to find a trashed room and thousands of dollars in damages; with only a couple witnesses behind. Police identified the rapper as 21 yr old Vincent Cabrera from Fresno , Ca; who was visiting downtown Los Angeles to promote his music release . Witnesses say Cabrera and his entourage were indefinitely acting in self-defense after bullets hit the room door. LAPD Officials say Cabrera is not from the Los Angeles area and it’s also clear that he was accompanied by several gang members from Fresno . A witness that was at the event says the altercation stemmed from a music project Cabrera released virally last Monday (10/16) in which he details a drive -by shooting that dates back to 2014 on the east end of Fresno . Authorities are looking at social media accounts for any incriminating statements and police are examining all nearby camera set ups . As of now the incident is considered self-defense , but law enforcement remain unsure as to who shot the weapon and who carried it; which can lead to several arrests being made in the upcoming days. Anybody with any information regarding the incident are asked to come forward immediately . Pg. 3
