Fans from all over the world were excited when they learned that Broadchurch actress, Jodie Whittaker, would become the Thirteenth Doctor. This would make her the first female incarnation of the time traveling alien from the fictional planet of Galifrey.
In a shocking turn of events, Whittaker has decided to turn down the role. Her reasoning being she needed that time to focus on her family. Sources close to Jodie say she did not make this decision lightly. “She knows fans will be upset, as they have every right to be. However, she realizes that the Doctor Who filming is a long and hard period of filming. Her family misses her and right now, that’s what matters most right now.”
