Burlington Man wins lottery

A Burlington man is an instant millionaire.
Delano Rodrigues won the guaranteed $10 million prize in the Oct. 5 Lotto 6/49 draw.
“I checked my numbers four times to make sure I wasn’t seeing things,” Rodrigues while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto, where he picked up his cheque.
“All I kept thinking was, ‘Am I imagining this?’”
He says he waited for his wife to get home before going to the store to validate the ticket.
“I told her we were going somewhere and then we went to the store. I used the ticket checker, knowing it was a big winner, and that’s how my wife found out she was married to a millionaire.”
Rodrigues plans to take a vacation with a portion of his windfall, and start an Alpaca farm.
“It has always been my family’s dream to start and Alpaca Farm — my kids and my wife. It started in our trips to South America. My wife and I will take a trip to South America next year to celebrate our anniversary and see if we can bring some Alpaca’s back with us.
“Between now and then we will travel to Bermuda for a little sunshine. I’m also a huge golf and this year I will be heading to the Masters for the very first time.”
The winning ticket was purchased at L&I Variety in Roseland Plaza on Guelph Line.
