Keslowski suspended for comments detrimental to NASCAR; Hornish to drive the 2 in the 500

In a surprise announcement on Monday, NASCAR has suspended Penske Racing driver Brad Keslowski for the Daytona 500 ( and other speedweeks events). In a brief statement, Brian France said, “We have found the comments speaking out against Toyota and the competitiveness of NASCAR highly detrimental and offensive. We believe this action will show that we are against negative comments on NASCAR’s current product and will take action more than before.” Penske has tabbed Sam Hornish Jr. to drive the #2 Ford Fusion for the 500. Hornish said, “I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity at winning the 500. I hope to make Rodger proud.”
Keslowski could not be reached for comment.
