A Baton Rouge teen died after he was shot while driving his vehicle on Plank Road late Saturday, Baton Rouge police said.
Michael Atkinson, 17, was driving his vehicle “when he was shot multiple times” in a suspected drug deal, Baton Rouge police spokesman Sgt. L’Jean McKneely said. Atkinson then crashed his vehicle into a light pole about 11:25 p.m. in the 1700 block of Plank Road.
Atkinson of 5350 Beth Ann Drive, Baton Rouge, died at the scene, McKneely said.
