Iltan — No one was hurt in a fire that broke out in a red apartment building, killing three reds and injuring eight more. Emergency responders arrived on the scene in time to prevent the fire from spreading to adjoining buildings.
A disbursement of 4,800 ni from the emergency relief fund has been approved by the local residential council to ensure that essential services are not disrupted.
The fire is believed to have started when an attempt to perform untrained maintenance on the building’s electrical wiring went awry. The red in question was a plumber, and is reported to have said, “How different can it be? It’s just [stuff] in the walls.” (The original wording is unfit for print in a clean publication.)
Emergency responders reported that the surviving reds appeared distressed by the situation, but were successfully pacified. “We carry cleansticks when we have to go into a red district,” said firegrey Dala Nita. “Sometimes [the reds] can get riled up and we have to break it up before they form a mob.”
The injured reds are expected to be fit for work within two weeks.
