Belt Thief Hits Fort Wayne

The infamous belt thief struck again. This time, in the sleepy city of Fort Wayne, Indiana, the man who cons innocent people to loan him a belt, tricked NWCA volunteer, Ed Gibbons. A retired high school principal from New Jersey, Gibbons said he was completely fooled. “I couldn’t believe it. When I packed up to go home, I realized my brown belt was missing.” Helping run the NWCA Multi-Divisional Duals, Gibbons offered his belt to the suspect because he didn’t want the fellow to walk around with sagging pants. “Apparently his story about needing a belt was just a hoax to get me to feel sorry for him,” lamented Gibbons. “It worked!”

The suspect has several aliases. He has gone by the names Dan, Ned, Dan the Man, & and The Kid From Lock Haven. The Fort Wayne police were able to get a picture of the suspect relaxing in his home that is referred to as “THE BELT CASTLE.”

This is not the first time people associated with the NWCA have reported missing a belt. A anonymous source told radio station WIBN that several employees were seen leaving the office without wearing a belt. The same people were seen on video surveillance wearing belts when they arrived several hours earlier.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Sargent Smith of the Fort Wayne Police Department.
