Indiana cuts deer season off for 2018.

Indiana department of fish and wildlife had unanimously decided to eliminate the 2018 deer season due to low deer population. Deer numbers have been down tremendously in the last few years. Due to a public outcry DNR will be suspending the season until the population recovers. Landowner Kevin Freese of Clayton Indiana told The Sentinel that he has been trying to manage his game ranch for years, but neighboring landholders will not stay on board. ” were been trying for years to manage our herd here, but any thing that walks by the d#%&n neighbors- bam, if is brown it’s down!” Chronic wasting disease along with a strong insurance lobby and poor hunting practices have been blamed for the decision.
