A woman was found unconscious after being shot in Pine Hills on Sunday, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

A passerby found the woman near 6224 Silver Star Road at about 10 a.m., deputies said.
“Oh my gosh, I cannot believe this, said Charlene Nelson, who lives nearby. “They said her body was found right here and I only live right there. This is really close to home.”
The woman, who was later identified as Karry McNeil 47, was taken to a hospital for treatment. Her condition has not been released.
The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident as an attempted murder.
Investigators canvassed the surrounding area, talking to anyone they could for leads.
However, Nelson said oftentimes people in the area don’t want to speak up.
