Alexander — An Alexander woman is facing a misdemeanor assault charge after allegedly drop kicking another woman during an altercation at the Alexander Country Deli. State police responded to the Deli late Thursday night for reports of a fight between two female individuals. Shannon M. Koch, 41, allegedly drop kicked another female to the ground after what police report was a heated verbal altercation between the two women. Witnesses report seeing Koch chase after and kick the woman, after the victim threw a drink at her. Police report that the victim was on her way the Genesee County Fair and had stopped for gas, but do not yet know what sparked the altercation. She was reportedly taken to the Wyoming County Community Hospital and released with non-life threatening injuries. Koch was charged with third-degree assault. She was committed to Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
