Manchester United first team to introduce controversial new refund scheme

Manchester United are the first team to introduce a new supporter refund scheme for those who attend both home and away games. Fans would be refunded a percentage of ticket prices based on team performance in the hope of encouraging more fans to attend games and also to remain for the full 90 minutes.

The new scheme has not been met without critisism over fears such a plan could bankrupt the club, with performances consistently poor it could cost the club thousands of pounds every weekend, a source close to club has shared their concerns saying, “This is Ed Woodward’s last desperate attempt at regaining some popularity with fans, the concern is really that performances on the pitch are consistently awful and this scheme could end up costing the club millions” when asked about Mourinho’s opinion the source replied “He is concerned the money used to refund fans could be put to better use in the transfer market, however you have to ask yourself who would want to sign for this club in the state it’s in.”

Who would be in charge of deciding on how much to refund each game we don’t know but time will tell on whether this scheme is financially viable as Manchester United are an absolute pile of shit.
