Seahawks Promote Tom Cable

Seattle (Wa) – AP

The Seattle Seahawks have expanded the role of offensive line coach Tom Cable. Cable will now have the expanded responsibility of Offensive Coordinator as Darell Bevell has been let go by the team.

“Tom might be the smartest coach I’ve ever known,” said head coach Pete Carroll. “We appreciate everything Darell Bevell did for the organization, but Tom will now be the O-line coach and offensive coordinator and we feel we are now set for a run of dominance.”

Cable addressed the Seattle media this morning and was defiant when asked about his subpar results as the run game guru. “I think I’ve proven that I can take almost anyone and turn them into a star. Germain Ifedi was a raw product and he’s now easily the best right tackle in the NFL. Luke Joeckel struggled in Jacksonville and he was a superstar guard in our offense. Lord willing he’ll be a Seahawk the rest of his career.”

The response in Seattle has been largely apoplectic.

“They could have hired the corpse of General Custer and got better results,” declared receiver Paul Richardson. “I’m out, Motherfuckers.”

Cable signed a lifetime contract to remain with the team.
