Claiborne County Public School District in Port Gibson, MS closes indefinitely.

Due to recent altercations between the school board and the superintendent and the constant subpar test scores, the Mississippi Department of Education has elected to shut down the district permanently. Parents are encouraged to enroll their children in either the Jefferson or Warren Co. school district for the upcoming school year. Students are encouraged to make new friends and do their best to adapt. Governor Phil Bryant comments, “We understand things like this happen and we suggest that the citizens of Port Gibson get their shit together.”
